| MIFUR presents Winter 2011 collections at Soho House, New York |
MIFUR, the most important fur and leather trade show in the industry, presented a preview of the Winter 2011 fur collections in New York during a cocktail at Soho House on Wednesday February 10th 2010. The collections included Annabella, Braschi, Gabriele Colangelo, Gianfranco Ferré Furs, Byte by Teso, Manoel Cova by Jun, Mala Matì, Mazzi Diamond, Rindi, Simonetta Ravizza, Vinicio Pajaro. Different collections with different options tell the fashion story of MIFUR and the most important and emerging fur designers.

The new millennium has seen the fur fashion industry thrive. Fur continues to be considered the ultimate luxury. But fur today is also appealing to a new generation, giving it a younger, accessible and more casual image. A feeling of optimism, renewal and reinvention, a strengthening in the quality of materials, craftsmanship and a deep sense of heritage has translated in strong and powerful looks for the season.
The protagonist fur is mink. Treated like fabric, finely worked in natural shades, subtle colorations, or in black or white, mink is presented in all its beauty and elegance. Sometimes with a Kidassia goat, sable or fox trim, mink makes a true statement. Persian lamb and chinchilla add an essential luxurious touch, while more forward fashion pelts like Murmansk, rabbit and Fitch create a new kind of luxury, all reinvented in simple, classic shapes.
MIFUR is proud of their ability to reunite under one umbrella some of the most prestigious names in the fur and leather industry. For more than 14 years MIFUR has researched and gathered top accessories and raw material specialists (skins, machineries, tanneries and prototypes) at their vast exhibitions. They offer designers the best there is in terms of quality and detailing for their collections, and thoroughly researched trends. From its inception MIFUR has programmed other collateral events, paying special attention to young emerging designers, who offer a fresh perspective of new product creativity and innovation. MIFUR has also created great expectation around their fashion show, where the best collections are shown. Among the designers that have participated in MIFUR’s fashion show in Milan are Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Borbonese, Gianfranco Ferré and Mariella Burani.
MIFUR 2010 will be held at Fiera Milano Rho from Wednesday the 3rd to Saturday the 6th of March. |
