David Bowie, the Beatles and many legendary rock bands give Blood & Honey inspiration to create “wearable art”.
When Lidiya Pfayfer, Creative Director and owner of the Blood & Honey designer label, met Elie Akiba, owner of the Lulu Laboratorium Art Gallery and Lifestyle Clothing, they discussed Lulu Lab’s plans for the upcoming Art Basel 2016 art fair in Miami.
And voila: Three “Pièces uniques” were created: one was a long, aqua-green, mink coat with the portrait of the late great David Bowie, made with cut-n-sew appliqué technique; the second one was pop-art cover of one of the Beatles albums, made in white rex woven technique; and the third, a black, NAFA, mink jacket made with cut-n-sew technique, bearing names of many legendary rock bands. It took about a month of very difficult handiwork to create each piece. “On the first day of the showing, we sold one of the coats and received several orders from private clients,” said Lidiya.
Blood & Honey collections are distinguished for their designers’ fashion design features and particularly for the exceptional quality of the furs used.
